Just google a guide on how to do it.Ī lot of people talk about the glorious GMMK pro as this board's main competitor, but I think the Q1 beats it - the gasket has more flex, I prefer the more professional aesthetic with no branding (not even on the underside), and the Q1 in my opinion sounds better out of the box and also can sound better or roughly equal when modded but while preserving more gasket flex. I hear they're adding a version with a rotary encoder for controlling volume or whatever in the future, so you could wait for that, but apparently if you're impatient the current version actually can already support one (if you're willing to do a tiny bit of soldering).

I'm planning on switching to Gateron Blacks soon.Īnyway, overall, I'd absolutely recommend this keyboard as my top choice to anyone who's looking into getting a 75% mechanical keyboard - it's gorgeous, the form factor's perfect, there's a switch to toggle it between mac and windows mode, the lighting is south facing, the whole thing's gasket mounted, it comes with a pretty good cable, and there's no branding anywhere on the keyboard at all, just smooth, plain metal. The board takes 5 pin or 3 pin switches, I'm running Everglide Oreos on mine but it'll take just about anything. I replaced them with PBT shinethroughs - if you're looking for the cheapest/best option at a budget and want to make sure you get a keycap set that fits this keyboard, the Glorious Aura V2s look pretty good and will fit perfectly. The included keycaps (if you buy a fully built version) are pretty good, not the greatest, and they're ABS. I'm using the stock ones, the lubing is okay. The stabs are screw-in and, while not *easy* to replace, aren't too much of a hassle.

When compared to other cheap coiled cables like the one they give you in the Razer keycap upgrade set, this one blows it out of the water. Definitely a nice bonus to have, and definitely amazing that it's included for free. The coiled cable that comes with the keyboard is pretty good. Just get the barebones version and add your own switches, or if you don't already have keycaps, buy a prebuilt version and replace the switches.

I swapped my switches anyway, so it didn't particularly matter, but it's something to note if you want to use RGB lights - it'll make all your lighting look weird. If you get yours and are wondering where the flex is, open it up and replace the stock foam with some thinner automotive sound dampener, like a Kilmat or something.Īlso, all the stock switch options, while technically fine, are phantom switches, meaning they'll tint the RGB light coming out of your keyboard (if you're into that). The retail versions include a thick layer of foam at the bottom of the case already, which makes it sound good but reduces the flex quite heavily. You can fix this by putting a few layers of scotch tape on the bottom of the PCB, and then adding a 1mm layer of automotive sound dampener at the bottom. The case sounds a little pingy to some people. It's gorgeous, built well, supports QMK/VIA, and has a gasket mounting system that actually works and isn't just something to tick off on a list of features. This is an incredible keyboard for an incredible price.
